While working in the Plan Wizard, an error message entitled "PAS6_App" occurs and shows detailed computer code.

This is the result of having out-dated Windows Scripting Components that Palo Alto Software, Inc. programs rely on.. To resolve the issue, please follow the instructions below.

Download the update for the Visual Basic Run-time components:

  1. Click the following link to download the vbrun60sp6.exe update.
    ftp://ftp.bizplans.com/vbrun60sp6.exe
  2. When prompted, choose to Save this file to the Desktop of your computer.
  3. After downloading, click close and proceed to the next download.

Download the update for the Windows Scripting components:

  1. Click the appropriate link to download the Windows Scripting 5.6 update:
    For Windows 98/ME
    ftp://ftp.bizplans.com/scr56en.exe

    For Windows 2000/XP
    ftp://ftp.bizplans.com/scripten.exe
  2. When prompted, choose to Save this file to the Desktop of your computer.
  3. After downloading, click close and then restart your computer to ensure that the files are not in use.

Install the Updates:

  1. Double click on the vbrun60sp6.exe file to install the updates to the Visual Basic Run-time Components.
  2. Once the update files have finished copying and the window disappears, double click on the file which you downloaded to install the Windows Scripting 5.6 updates (scr56en.exe or scripten.exe).
  3. Once this update has been installed, restart the computer and then launch your Palo Alto Software program to verify that the problem has been resolved.

If the error still persists, install Internet Explorer 6 on your system, which will add some important files to Windows:

  1. Visit the Internet Explorer web site.
  2. Download and install Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1.
  3. Restart your computer after the installation has finished.
  4. Launch Business Plan Pro.
