Question:
Can the software spreadsheets be converted to Microsoft Excel?
Answer:
First stop, the manual: it has a chapter dedicated to working with Microsoft Office, which includes a lot more detail than what you have here; and also another whole chapter on working with tables, and yet another on advanced work with tables, linking tables together, using functions, etc. That's definitely worth reading.
Our software uses its own spreadsheet, it doesn't require Microsoft Excel. The spreadsheet it uses looks a lot like Excel and its formulas and functions are compatible with those in Excel. If you have the Premier version you can add as many blank tables as you want -- each of them an empty spreadsheet worksheet, with Excel-compatible formulas -- and you can copy from Excel and paste into them without too much trouble. Furthermore, as to working with others, the Premier version's innovative email collaboration features give you a way to absorb another user's table into your plan, which is a powerful option for working in groups.
You can also export a plan to Excel and it will give you a full Excel-compatible workbook, with separate worksheets for each table, and all the formulas and range names intact.
Our software imports Excel spreadsheets using copy and paste commands from both Excel and our software. Click here for details.
If you do export from our software, make sure to set your options to show tabs for each sheet, and show row and column headings too. Some areas of the spreadsheet are hidden, but not password protected.
Also, please make sure to look at the Advanced Tables chapter in your manual, or for earlier versions, the Advanced Table Help section in your Help menu. You'll discover that our software includes a spreadsheet compatible with Excel, and the tips show you how to change your settings to make rows and columns show, and what are the main range names, etc.
