Answer:

These errors can indicate that the installer file didn't download properly or that the latest updates for the Windows Installer and InstallShield software need to be installed on your computer.

These types of error messages typically indicates that the download was interrupted before you were able to obtain a complete installation package for the software or the file was corrupted somehow. To check the current file size, right click on the downloaded file and choose properties. If the file is less than the expected size (shown when beginning the download), you will need to delete the current file and re-download the installer from the web site.

If the file has completely downloaded and you still receive the error, this could indicate that the latest updates for the Windows Installer have not been installed on the computer. If the Windows Installer is not fully updated it will not have the functionality required by the InstallShield Wizard to run our installation.

Take the following steps to apply the latest Windows Installer and InstallShield updates and then complete the installation of our software: Remove the current installation Close any open programs. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel then Double click Add/Remove Programs. Select the software and click Remove. Once finished, restart the PC.

  2. Click on Selective Startup and then un-check the box for Load Startup Group items Click Ok to save the changes and then restart your computer.
  3. Once the computer has restarted, Clear the Windows Temp files:

      %TEMP%
    3. Click on Edit and then choose Select all
    4. Press Delete to delete all of the temporary files in the directory
  4. Finally, double click on the Installer program which was downloaded previously to install the software.
  5. Once the software has been successfully installed and tested, return to the MSCONFIG utility and reset the computer to a Normal Startup.

Note: If you are using Windows NT4.0 or 2000, you will be unable to 'Clean Boot' your operating system. In this situation you should restart your computer, log in as the local administrator, use the Windows Task Manager to close down any background applications and then install the software.
