Import Custom Graphics
Import Custom Graphics

Question:
I have created an organizational chart, a company logo, and a photo of our facilities. How can I bring these custom graphics into my plan?

Answer:
Using the Text Manager and Cover Page editor, you can import graphics that have been saved as bitmap (*.bmp) files, Windows Metafiles (*.wmf), Jpeg images (*.jpg, *.jpeg), and GIF images (.gif).

To import a graphic file in one of the above formats, follow these instructions:

  • Go to the topic in which you would like to add the graphic.

  • Select the Text Manager tab from the top half of your screen (next to the Instructions, Example, and Formatting Tips tabs).

  • Click the Browse/View button next to the third field, "Attach a GRAPHIC to this topic:"

  • Browse to your graphic file, select it, and choose Open. In order to show in this list, remember that it must be a bitmap (*.bmp) file, Windows Metafile (*.wmf), Jpeg image (*.jpg, *.jpeg), or a GIF image (.gif).

  • The browse/view window will now show your custom image. Click Close, and it will be associated with the given topic in your plan.
  • However, you will not see that graphic in the bottom of your text. It will print automatically immediately following the given topic's text and before the next topic title. The text window, however, doesn't display a graphic. You can preview the topic including the attached graphic by choosing File, Print Plan and Preview.

To remove an attached graphic, simply click the Browse/View button and select Delete.

Note: Our software is not capable of sizing a graphic, as it is not a graphics program. All imported graphics have an inherent size. If you graphic prints larger or smaller than you expected, open the graphic in a graphics program, make sure to view it on a one to one scale, and resize the image.
