Pre-process Error: ActiveX component can't create object

Question:

When I try to open the program I get an error saying "Preprocess Error: ActiveX component can't create object" followed by a whole heap of writting that looks like programing. This error could also be displayed when attempting to use one of the wizards within the program itself.

Note: This solution also applies to the following error messages:

  • Program hangs on splash screen image for the software.
  • Run-time Error '0' When launching the program or using the wizards within the software.
  • Run-time Error '429': ActiveX component can't create object
  • Run-time Error '430': Class does not support automation or does not support expected interface
  • Run time Error '-2147221231(80040111)': Automation Error Class Factory Cannot Supply the Requested Class
  • Run-time Error '2147024770 (8007007e)': Automation Error
  • Run-time error '-2147417848 (80010108)': Automation Error object invoked has disconnected from its client (when launching wizards inside the software).
Encountering this error when viewing sample plans is due to a different problem. See this Technical Support Article for more information.
