The charts which are generated by our software do have a limited amount of room available for the chart image and legend for the chart. If the size of the legend for a chart grows too large, due to lengthly descriptors or a large number of line items, the large legend can cause the chart image or graphic to not appear. You will need to either reduce the size of or disable the legend for the chart to correct this problem.

• Reducing the size of the Chart Legend:
• You can reduce the length of the row descriptors or reduce the number of line items in the related table.
• You can also reduce the size of the font which is being used to generate the legend for the chart by taking the following steps:
1. Choose the Custom Format button from the tool bar at the top of the Chart.
2. Double click on the Legend in the display of the chart to launch the Chart Designer with the Legend selected.
3. Select the Font tab in the Chart Designer and take the following steps:
• Change the Font from Arial to Arial Narrow.
• Manually reduce the Font Size from 9 to a smaller number by typing it into the box.
4. Click the Apply and then Ok buttons to save these changes.

Either of these steps will have the desired effect of decreasing the overall size of the legend allowing for more room to print the chart image.

• Disabling the Chart Legend in the Chart:
1. Choose the Custom Format button from the tool bar at the top of the Chart.
2. Save an image of the current Legend:
1. Right click on the Chart Legend and choose Save As..
2. Change the File Name to Legend and the Save as type to JPG
3. Save the image in your My Documents folder.
3. Double click on the Legend in the display of the chart to launch the Chart Designer with the Legend selected.
4. Uncheck the Visible box in the Chart Designer to disable the Chart Legend.
5. Click the Apply and then Ok buttons to save these changes.
6. Insert a topic into the Plan Outline to contain the image of the Chart Legend which was saved in Step ##2. This topic should be placed just before or just after the chart in question.
7. Once the topic has been inserted, right click in the text area and choose Insert and then select Image. Then navigate to and select the image saved in Step ##2.
