Question:
I would like to send him the written portions of the plan, have him edit them, and then return them to the Windows based master plan. Retaining the formating is important to him. How do you suggest we proceed?
I am using Business Plan Pro for Windows. I have engaged an editor who uses a Macintosh.
Answer:
The best way to do it is to export your plan from Business Plan Pro as RTF formatted text file, send it to your consultant, and have him or her edit the RTF file and send it back as an RTF file. Macintosh Word or MacWrite can manage the RTF format. You will not be able to import changes back into Business Plan Pro easily, only by carefully using cut and paste.
Ask the consultant to note changes carefully, setting them aside from the rest of the text, because the next step is that you have to open the consultant's file in your Windows word processor, find the changed areas, copy them, and paste them into the appropriate topics in Business Plan Pro.
